You've got it? Well we can help...

For any of you who don't already know, writers block is basically a jam, between your imagination, and the paper. You may be stuck o a word in a poem, a hook for your mystery novel, or whatever the case may be. If you need a solution, please read below, and if you have a solution, please submit it using the form at the bottom of the page. When submitting, please make sure your tequnique is not already listed. Thanks!

Here are some suggestions to get rid of writers block, and some "what not to do" 's as well. Hope it helps.

Suggestions:

#1. Try taking your mind off of you problem, by:

~going outside

~having a meal with you family

~playing with some friends

~playing a sport

~throwing a Frisbee

~making an ice cream sundae

(You get the point)

#2. Talk to a friend; by asking a friend or parent for help, you're opening up a whole new window. They may see sides of things you never saw, and may help solve your problem.

#3. Write it down; Try writing down all of your ideas, even if some of tem you're sure you'll never use. Once you've completed your list, read through them. One idea can lead to the next, and before you know it you'll have made a work of art!

#4. Try waiting a day until you get back into it again. This way you'll be able to rest, or think over night, and get a fresh start the next day.

#5. Try fixing your other problems first. If you've got the dishwasher, TV, and stereo on, plus you’re younger siblings running around the house screaming- I don't blame you for being stuck. Go somewhere quite where you can think, soft peaceful music can sometimes help. Aside from that, if you're rooms a total mess, and it's really bothering you, clean it before you do anything else. It's hard to keep focus when your mind keeps soaring off in different directions.

What Not To Do:

I'm sure you already know most of these, but here they are just incase...

#1. Be patient with yourself; Don’t get all worked up about it, trust me with this one- it won't solve the problem. Just keep calm, try to think it through, and use one of the strategies above if still having trouble.

#2. Stay away from things like chat programs on the computer; Going on the help or writing message boards for tips to get rid of it or suggestions is one thing, but simply complaining with crying faces is going to get you no where. Use your time productively.

#3. Don't just sit there and chew on your pencil; eventually you may come across a brilliant idea, or like myself, you may just loose it. Take a few deep breaths and go do something else for awhile it get a fresh start.

#5. Don't quit; What ever you decide to do, do not give up! You've probably worked very hard to get where you are now, whether you realize it or not. Maybe change a sentence or two so it'll be easier to play around with, but don't throw it away- that's not what I ment by getting a fresh start. Putting it too the side is fine, but the day you go to search for it in the trash and figure out it's too late- well just make sure I'm no where near.

I hope this helped!
